Young Artists Awards
The Young Artists Awards is a performing arts education, audition, performance, and scholarship program for students ages eight to twenty-one from throughout Southwest Florida. The project recognizes the area's top talented students in the performing arts. Now beginning our ninth year, the mission of the Young Artists Awards program is to provide performing arts opportunities and scholarships in the areas of dance, drama, vocal and instrumental music performance and to provide a showcase for the talents of our local youth. As a 501(c) (3) organization, we are dependent on community and corporate funding.
By providing young performers access to professionals in the various performing arts fields, students receive positive feedback and educational exposure through adjudicated open auditions, numerous performance opportunities throughout the community, and a gala performance featuring the top judged students in each category at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre. We will be awarding thirty-three scholarships and opportunities to collaborate with educators and professional artists. At our packed event in March 2011, over $20,000 in savings bond scholarships were awarded to the student performers. Forty-one professionals in the performing arts from throughout the nation volunteered their time as adjudicators.

November 11 and 12, 2011 SUN SPLASH FESTIVAL GROUNDS
New to the Cape Coral Coconut Festival! Win $100 at the most exciting singing competition
in Southwest Florida! All singers invited! No auditions required. Musical acts may include
singing alone or singing and guitar /keyboard. No drums or dance performance allowed due
to limited space (Dance teams can perform in the COCO Cheerfest on Sunday, November
13th ). Singers will compete in preliminary rounds Friday, November 11th. The top three acts
from each age group will advance to the final round Saturday night, November 12th to

General Rules
Age groups: 6-9, 10-13, 14-17 (as of 11/1/11).
Proof of age may be required.
Group acts up to 3 people will be allowed.
Performers under 6 years old will be allowed if they
are in a group with older children.
Only family friendly music will be permitted
(rock, country, etc.). All music will be screened
prior to performing. Published rules will be emailed
after registration is received.
First, Second and Third will be awarded for each age group
First- $100 Second- $50 Third- $25
Registration open now through 11/1/11. Mail in
registration form with payment to sign up.
Rules packet will be emailed to you. Acts may
be accepted on-site depending on response.
